Adolf Hitler was the Führer (Dictator) of the Germans from 1933, until he ultimately commited suicide in 1945, when the U.S.S.R invaded Berlin.

Hitler is continously mentioned throughout the book. His first and only appearance is in Berlin, when he "talks" with Colonel Von Roenne about Kuthlenthal, and the plan for the Germans to invade Greece and Mussolini, the Italian dictator's defence of Sicily. Hitler wants Dak to go into training to become a Nazi, and also wants to put Dak in the Hitler Youth.
